Hung by a Thread

(Baeszler/Rubin)

You tore me down
I didn’t have that far to go
Even so it was you

You lost control
You wouldn’t be the first
You shouldn’t be the last to know how it feels

Hung by a thread
Waiting for another’s hand to mend you again
Hung by a thread

Your lifeless gaze
Curtains drawn on younger days
Packed away with your shoes

Opened someday
Wrapped in all the mystery
Pageantry that was you

Is that how you want it to be
Another rung to heaven
On the ladder you see
Waiting there for you to climb
But it withers in time
